All notable changes to the Web to File Chrome extension.

Version 1.1.0 — August 2026

EPUB export, alongside PDF, Markdown, and image. Images are embedded, so the file stays readable offline on a phone or an e-reader. Chapters follow the page’s own headings, and a cover is generated from the title and the site.
Export a ChatGPT conversation. The whole thread becomes a document, each turn in order with its speaker. Your own conversations and shared links both work. Long threads export in full, including the turns you have scrolled past, and code blocks keep their formatting.
Single-page PDF. A Layout option renders the article as one continuous page instead of separate sheets. Very long articles are still paginated, and the panel says so.
Header and footer on PDF exports, off by default. Each page carries the title at the top and the source URL with a page number at the bottom.
Nineteen paper sizes: A0 through A9, B4, B5, JIS B4, JIS B5, Letter, Legal, Tabloid, Ledger, and Folio.

Two permissions dropped. Web to File no longer asks for access to your downloads or your tabs, and Chrome’s install prompt is shorter for it. Your “Ask where to save each file” setting is now respected.
Rebuilt export options and preview in the side panel.
Format and layout labels now appear in your own language.

Chinese, Japanese, and Korean text no longer goes missing from PDF exports on macOS.
Article mode no longer loses most of the page, or fails outright, on link-heavy Chinese, Japanese, and Korean articles.
Long lines of code wrap in PDF exports instead of being cut off at the edge.
PDF headers and footers show the address of the page you exported.
The paper size list shows every size, and the option menus are no longer see-through.
Rows of inline links in page footers no longer expand into one bullet per link.

The side panel now opens in your browser’s language the first time you use it, instead of always starting in English. Chrome’s language is matched against the 160 or more translations that ship with the extension, and English is used when there is no match. Choosing a language in Settings still takes precedence.

Image export: save any page as a full-length screenshot in PNG, JPEG, or WebP, with your format choice remembered. Full Page mode captures the page as shown in the tab; Article and Custom modes capture the clean, formatted content, matching the PDF layout.
Export and print errors now appear as a readable message inside the panel instead of a system dialog.

Storage is now freed properly: deleting or trimming export history also removes the underlying files, and leftover files from earlier versions are cleaned up automatically.
Markdown export no longer fails on certain pages with unusual publish-date information.
Full-page image capture no longer duplicates content on some pages or fails on very long pages on high-resolution displays; capture retries once automatically if it hits a temporary error.
Wikipedia pages now extract correctly: no more one-sentence results instead of the article, stray style text in exports, or “[edit]” links appearing in titles and content.
WebP export no longer produces an empty file on very long pages.

Links now look the same in preview, PDF, and image exports: blue with an underline, kept for readability.
The side panel opens faster and stays lighter in memory.
