How to convert web pages to files

Pick the format by what you will do next

Every format comes from the same side panel, so the choice is made per export rather than once for good. The question that settles it is what happens to the file after you save it.

• Read it later on a Kindle, a Kobo, or a phone: export EPUB. The text reflows to the screen and the font size you pick.
• Send, print, or archive it: export PDF. The layout is fixed and the text stays selectable.
• Work on it in Obsidian, Notion, Logseq, or a git repository: export Markdown. Headings, lists, links, and tables stay editable.
• Keep how it looked, as with a receipt or a chart-heavy report: export a full-length image. It cannot be searched, so use PDF when the words matter.

Pick the mode by the shape of the page

• Article mode suits news stories, blog posts, documentation, and essays. It keeps the title, body text, and inline images and leaves navigation, ads, and comment sections behind.
• Custom mode suits dashboards, product listings, and discussion threads, where the useful parts are spread across the page. Click the blocks you want and reorder them before exporting.
• Full Page mode captures the page as rendered, top to bottom, with known ad slots, cookie banners, and sticky headers removed.
• ChatGPT conversations are recognised on chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com and exported turn by turn, with code blocks intact. Other chat tools fall back to Article or Full Page extraction.
